Saving the small things that run the planet
Part of the national Urban Buzz project, Urban Buzz Birmingham created or enhanced 33 hectares of pollinator habitat across 115 ‘Buzzing Hotspots’ in the city. Working closely with the Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust (BBCWT) and local community groups, over 1,200 volunteers helped to create wildflower patches in parks, plug planted wildflowers in young woodlands, diversified wetland edges, created bee banks and installed pollinator-friendly honeycomb planters in Birmingham’s business district.
