Wild Belfast, Buglife and more will be at Lagan Meadows for an all-day BioBlitz: https://www.wildbelfast.org/events-1/city-nature-challenge-day-1

    • Moreland’s Meadow, 7am-4pm.
    • Wild Belfast are competing in a “Bioblitz” as part of the City Nature Challenge 2024. Meet the experts and help to record wildlife across Belfast and go toe to toe with cities from around the world to record the most species.
    • Feel free to drop in and drop out with the range of events they will be holding on the day!

NI Recorders Day is happening at Cultra Manor with Butterfly Conservation and CEDaR, with an accompanying BioBlitz to follow: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/butterfly-conservation-northern-ireland-recorders-day-nird-2024-tickets-861647580107

    • Cultra Manor, 10am-2.30pm
    • Butterfly Conservation’s annual recorders day, being organised this year in collaboration with CEDaR, is an opportunity for people to get together to hear about and share information on species conservation, recording schemes, atlasing projects and volunteer recording.
    • Butterflies and moths are on the programme but there’s also an opportunity to hear about dragonflies, the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan and how you can get involved in the weekend’s Greater Belfast Area’s bioblitz City Nature Challenge.

Belfast City Council is hosting the annual Spring Fair at Malone House & Barnett’s Demesne on Saturday and Sunday, with a chance to hear how to get involved with biological recording from BCC Biodiversity Officer and Buglife’s Belfast Buzzing officer: https://www.belfastcity.gov.uk/Events/Spring-Fest-2024

    • Malone House and Barnett Demesne, 1.30-5.30pm
    • It will be a weekend of family fun with the popular Spring Flower Show, floral art demonstrations, live music and entertainment.
    • Members of the World Daffodil Convention will also be at the event.
    • There’ll be lots to see and do including: Spring Flower Show, live music and entertainment, Craft and Food Market and so much more!

Buglife will be present at Crawfordsburn in the afternoon for biodiversity walks – event link to follow.

Ulster Wildlife will do pond dipping at Bog Meadows – event link to follow.

Friends of the Field, Botanic Gardens Lower Playing Fields BioBlitz – event info to follow.
