Bumblebee Identification and recording in Newport (Online)

Wednesday 11th May, 2022 - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Online via Zoom

Have you ever been curious about what’s buzzing in your garden?

Do you want to contribute to Citizen Science and bumblebee conservation, but you just don’t know where to start?

Join Buglife and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust for the first in a series of free workshops funded by the Landfill Disposals Tax Communities Scheme, aiming to help people discover how to recognise, record, and conserve the bumblebees of Newport.

In the Zoom session we will:

  • discuss how to identify the most common bumblebee species in Newport and what to aim for when recording them.
  • introduce Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s Citizen Science project BeeWalk and discuss how anyone can contribute to bumblebee recording and conservation as well as
  • share other opportunities to contribute to bumblebee conservation in Newport.

The event is free, but registration is essential to ensure your place.  Once registered a link to the Zoom meeting will be provided.
