Freshwater Invertebrate Workshop

Join Buglife Scotland for an introductory workshop on freshwater invertebrates; learn how to identify common groups of invertebrates that can be found in Scotland’s freshwaters and how to survey their habitats.

The day will be split into different sessions, with a presentation in the morning followed by a trip to Braid Burn and Blackford Pond in the afternoon, which are both just a short walk. Here, we will do some sampling to collect freshwater invertebrates and using the FSC Freshwater Trail guide we will identify what we have found in the field.

Please wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring a packed lunch for the day.

The workshop will run from 10am-3pm on Thursday 13th December and will be held at Hermitage House, Hermitage of Braid, 69a Braid Road, Edinburgh EH10 6JF.

The event is free to attend but booking is essential; please contact us by email or by phone (01786 447504) to book a place or find out more information.
