We’re delighted to invite you to a guided butterfly walk with Toby Fountain from Herefordshire Wildlife Trust, exploring the wonderful woodland butterflies that call the Wye Valley National Landscape home.

Little Doward Wood is a fantastic site for woodland wildlife, and provides important habitat for a variety of butterfly species. During this guided walk, Toby will introduce you to some of the special butterflies found here, including how to identify them, their fascinating ecology, and the habitats they need to thrive.
We’ll also explore the importance of woodland management and habitat restoration in supporting declining butterfly populations, including some of the Wye Valley’s priority species.
Whether you’re a beginner, a wildlife enthusiast, or simply interested in learning more about the nature on your doorstep, everyone is welcome. Come along, enjoy a walk through this beautiful woodland, and discover more about the incredible butterflies of the Wye Valley.
