In a time when we continually hear messages of biodiversity loss, not least with our insects and pollinators, farmers, who manage around 69% of the UK are in a position to make a huge difference to current trends, but how, especially when their working days and weeks are so much longer than most? This afternoon session will involve a talk introducing pollinating insect groups (and other beneficial insects), their life cycles and habitat requirements, and how these can be incorporated into farm practices to benefit farms and wildlife.
A farm walk will then explore habitats on farm looking at invertebrates, discussing their habitat needs and the practicalities of managing these habitats well. Finally…
