Short-necked Oil Beetle talk and guided walk – Barra

Come along to this free talk to learn all about the amazing life cycle of oil beetles and how you can play your part in the conservation of this brilliant species.

This workshop will be delivered by Sally Morris, Buglife Scotland Species on the Edge Conservation Officer, and will focus on identification of the Short-necked Oil Beetle (Meloe brevicollis) and surveying methods for the species. A nearby visit to some of the beetles’ sites at Eoligarry machair will follow to find these beetles in the field!
