Pollinator Watch: Learn Citizen Science Surveying

Monday 4th August, 2025 - 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Kelston Roundhill Barn, near Bath

Would you like to learn how to monitor pollinators and contribute to a UK-wide citizen science project?

Join the Avon Wildlife Trust and Buglife this August for a free citizen science training day. You’ll learn about the different insects groups that pollinate our plants and learn how to conduct FIT Counts (Flower-Insect Timed Counts), 10 minute quadrats recording pollinating insects visiting flowers. We will start with a theory based training session on the survey method and how to identify common species, then move into the field to practice surveying and identifying the insects we see.
