Jess Poole – Specialist Advisor, Natural Resources Wales
Jess has worked in nature conservation for nearly three decades, including roles at NRW and its predecessor, the Countryside Council for Wales. Her talk will reflect on her career before and after a life-changing road traffic accident that resulted in permanent disabilities. Jess will share her personal journey of recovery and resilience, and how NRW has supported her to continue contributing meaningfully to the sector. Her story highlights the importance of inclusive workplaces and the value of lived experience in shaping conservation work.
Anita Eade – Director, WWT (Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust)
With over 30 years of leadership in the charity sector, Anita brings a wealth of experience in scaling successful initiatives and securing major funding. Her talk will focus on embedding access into the core operations of environmental organisations. She’ll share practical strategies for making inclusion a driver of performance and impact, rather than a peripheral concern, and show how accessibility can strengthen both nature recovery and organisational success.
