Wembury Beach Wembury Beach Car Park, Wembury, Devon, United Kingdom

Join the Life on the Edge team to help survey for Bush Crickets along the beautiful Devon coastline.

📍Meeting point: Wembury Beach Car Park, Wembury, Plymouth PL9 0HP
🚗 Pick-ups are available en route – please email for details.

The warmer weather means it’s the perfect time to survey Bush Crickets. There are several species of Bush Cricket known to Devon, including the Roesel’s Bush-cricket (Metrioptera roeselii) (pictured). Using iRecord to log your survey results, you will be helping us to target our nature restoration work to protect and grow their populations.

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in nature and our coastline, or wishes to gain experience with surveying.

A bit about Life on the Edge…

Life on the Edge is an exciting partnership project between Buglife and South Devon National Landscape (project lead), working alongside other partner organisations including the National TrustTorbay Coast and Countryside Trust and the South West Coast Path Association. It aims to restore viable populations of some of the UK’s rarest invertebrates and plants living along the South Devon coast between Berry Head and Wembury.
