Coast to Coast Bee Roads Project

The Coast to Coast Bee Roads project was a collaboration between Buglife the Co-operative Group the Cumbria Local Nature Partnership, Lancashire Environment Forum and Greater Manchester Natural Capital Group.

The main aim of the project was to increase awareness of pollinator conservation across the north-west of England and to bring conservation partners together to identify a B-Lines network for Cumbria, Lancashire and Greater Manchester. A B-Lines network was identified in 2014 which has since been identified in several strategic documents including the Arnside and Silverdale AONB Delivery Plan and the Cumbria Local Nature Partnership.

In addition to mapping the B-Lines the project also developed schools resources and provided assistance and guidance to schools across the region. In addition it carried out work on schools grounds and other educational areas in Lancashire and Yorkshire.
