Welcome to our Plymouth’s Buzzing School pack! Here you’ll find out how to Get Your School Buzzing! Everything from how to deliver pollinator activities in different subject areas, to how to build a bee hotel.
We have also included teaching resources to Make Learning Buzz! These resources are linked to the national curriculum, and include ideas for learning about the role that bees and butterflies play in pollinating our crops, and how to go about running a bug hunt with your class and how to make your school grounds pollinator friendly.
Plymouth’s Buzzing! is a Heritage Lottery Funded city-wide project helping our bees, butterflies, hoverflies and other insect pollinators by planting urban wildflower meadows in our parks, and working with schools to make school grounds buzz with wildlife. Over 5 hectares of new wildflower meadows have been created in the Stonehouse, Central Park and Whitleigh areas of Plymouth.
