Northern February Red Stonefly Training course

Monday 1st March, 2021 - 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

On-line

Discover the rare Northern February red stonefly in this free online workshop with Craig Macadam, of Buglife Scotland.

This online workshop will provide information on the Northern February red stonefly (Brachyptera putata), a species endemic to Scotland. It will include guidance on identification, before exploring where the stonefly has been found before and highlighting targets for surveys in 2021 and beyond.

This workshop aims to train volunteers to survey for the Northern February red stonefly in the Cairngorms, in partnership between the Rare Invertebrates in the Cairngorms and Cairngorms Connect projects.

The Rare Invertebrates in the Cairngorms is a partnership project between RSPB Scotland, Buglife Scotland, Butterfly Conservation Scotland, NatureScot and the Cairngorms National Park Authority. The project is currently funded by the Cairngorms National Park Authority, RSPB Scotland, Cairngorms Connect (via the Endangered Landscapes Programme) and the Cairngorms Trust Green Recovery Fund.
