Saturday 30 November

Local residents and volunteers from Plymouth University joined Buglife and Plymouth Tree Partnership on a work out day in Central Park’s Family Tree Site. The Tree Partnership were planting over a dozen standard trees, funded through the Big Tree plant. Staff from Plymouth City Council’s Street Scene Services team kindly dug out the big planting pits. Buglife’s Plymouth’s Buzzing project were organising a massive bulb plant to enrich the Family tree site with colour and early pollen and nectar for Plymouth’s Pollinators. Over 2000 crocuses and bluebells have now been planted throughout the Family Tree site, whcih will bring a burst of colour in the spring. This is the third public site that Heritage Lottery Funded Plymouth’s Buzzing has improved for pollinators.
