Take part in a Noble chaffer beetle survey in June 2019

The Peoples Trust for Endangered Species (PTES) are looking for volunteers to help with a survey of  the Noble chafer beetle  in June this year.

PTES are one of the partners in the Ancients of the Future  project designed to protect and raise awareness of  importance of ancient trees and the habitat they provide  for some of our most endangered species of invertebrate, lichen, fungi and bat.

They need both surveyors and sites, particularly wood pasture site or orchard, to run the survey. It involves putting a trap out with a pheromone lure for 2 weeks in June. Checking it once a day (or every other day depending on the weather) and recording findings.
