Why your company should support Buglife

Today, we are increasingly aware that that we all have a responsibility to care for the natural world around us, and that this includes the companies that supply goods and services. Many companies have a proud history of providing support to charities and there are many benefits - to the good work charities do and for the companies that support them

Buglife is a small, distinctive conservation charity. We are passionate about the conservation of invertebrates and preventing extinctions. Find out below why your company should support Buglife and how we can work together with you!

Why choose to support Buglife?

  • Bugs are great - they are a particularly good way of engaging children with wildlife at their level
  • Bugs aren't always popular but you can help us to turn that around. Many people don't realise how important these little creatures are and how endangered many species are
  • Bugs are accessible to everyone - you don't need to go to a rainforest to see fantastic wildlife - it's here in our cities and towns in gardens, parks and other open spaces
  • Buglife takes action - we work energetically on the ground to conserve rare bugs and their habitats
  • Buglife is a very small charity, but with a huge job to do - your support can make a great and tangible difference
  • Buglife is high profile, well-respected and growing - our support from the public increases daily
  • Bugs are the small things that run the world - you can help us to take care of the little creatures upon which whole ecosystems depend

How can my company support Buglife?

There are many ways in which you can help our important work, including:

  • Staff fundraising - organise a coffee morning, dress-down day, raffle or sponsored event to raise funds and have lots of fun at the same time!
  • Payroll giving - encourage your staff to give tax-effectively through their pay to support Buglife
  • Pin badges - if you have outlets you could stock our soon to be launched new bug pin badges, featuring a ladybird and a dragonfly among others
  • 1% For The Planet - become an accredited 1% FTP company by giving 1% of your annual sales to Buglife
  • Donate goods - Buglife can use donated goods such as bug boxes, bug T-Shirts, relevant books or DVD's to offer as competition priizes and help raise funds. We can also sometimes use donated materials and tools for practical site-based work.
  • Volunteer - do you have experts that could help us out, for example with desktop publishing, database design? Perhaps you have staff teams looking to help out with mundane yet essential tasks such as envelope-stuffing?
  • Tell your customers about us - spread the word about Buglife and encouage your customers to support us. You could distribute leaflets, or feature us in your newsletter or blog.
If your company may be able to work with Buglife, please get in touch. Please email or call Zoe Bunter, Development Manager on 01733 201 210. Thank you!
