This section of the website provides information on crayfish projects in the UK as well as crayfish research. Currently there are number of crayfish project occurring in the UK including practical conservation to conserve threatened populations, to academic research projects looking at a range of crayfish species and issues. Presented here are summary details of some of these projects, these have been split into UK geographical areas, this information is being provided with an aim to facilitate understanding, collaboration and best practice. UK crayfish conference proceedings
There are been a number of the crayfish conferences in the UK and some of these conferences have produced proceedings, some of which are available online, see links and references below:

Journals
Knowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems (KMAE) is an international open access (free) journal that publishes articles, short communications, reviews, opinion papers, comments and replies that contribute to a scientific understanding of freshwater ecosystems and the impact of human activities upon these systems. It has also published papers from 8 European crayfish conferences on crayfish since 2000. Relevant volumes are: 356 (2000), 361(2001) 367(2002) 370-371(2003) 372-373(2004) 376-377(2005) 380-381(2006) 394-395(2009). See link in journal title.
Another source of papers on crayfish is Freshwater Crayfish - this journal covers all topics on crayfish e.g.taxonomy, genetics, physiology, diseases, behaviour, ecology, conservation management and aquaculture. See link in journal title.
