Buglife is the only organisation in Europe devoted to the conservation of all invertebrates. Buglife are at the forefront of brownfield habitat and species conservation in the UK. We are developing our brownfield work in Northern England and we are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to take forward this work.

You will work with the Brownfield Conservation Officer to develop, manage and implement brownfield conservation projects nationally so as to secure the conservation of threatened invertebrate species on brownfield land in the UK.

You will implement existing brownfield projects in Teesside, Scunthorpe and Peterborough, ensuring that projects are delivered to a high standard and that all funding requirements are met.

You will also assist the Brownfield Conservation Officer with responses to relevant national and local planning consultations and applications; inform and influence new and existing brownfield regeneration policy; assist with campaigning work to protect identified threatened brownfield sites.

A key element of the role will be to work with developers, land owners, site managers, conservation organisations, local authorities and other key stake holders to raise awareness and develop innovative solutions to the conservation management of brownfield habitats. This will include organising regional ‘Planning for Brownfield Best Practice’ training events and workshops in the North of England.
