| Christmas bug facts - Mistletoe is used to decorate our houses during the festive season. It is also associated with the privilege of kissing girls underneath it! However, not many people realise it is a fantastic home and food source for many bugs!
- The Mistletoe flower bug lays its eggs on the plants leaves and feeds on the mistletoe. And, the Mistletoe weevil has a intricate relationship with the plant laying eggs in its stems, and tunnelling itself underground next to the roots of the bush to spend the winter.

| Christmas bug facts - Holly is well recognised in the festive season on Christmas cards and to decorate our home. Did you know that holly is an important plant for many bugs including the Holly blue butterfly and the Holly aphid that both feed from the plant.
- Dead wood from Holly bushes provides homes for beetles and other minibeasts. The density of the bush can provide homes and shelter for many spiders and insects.
