Something for everyone at Members Day

The first Buglife Members Day and Open Day held on 25 April was a great success. Read all about the day and what our guests thought of it here.

Tuesday 5 May

Our first ever Members Day and Open Day was held in central London. The day was open to all but completely free to Buglife members. 48 people came to the day - a great turnout for this new event. Guests dropped in for the talks and exhibitions throughout the day.

Our talks included 'Bug Hunting in the Antarctic - hunting for aliens in South Georgia' and 'Living roofs - high-rise homes for bugs'. Displays and exhibitions were available all day. 'Bug TV', where guests were able to view bugs under the microscope was particularly popular, as was the gardening display. The children enjoyed bug-themed arts and crafts and face-painting.

Lunchtime and coffee breaks were a good opportunity to peruse the stalls and chat with staff, volunteers and trustees. The lunch was a particular highlight and was described as 'excellent' by many guests.

Three generations of one family came to the day! Ruth Breame, Rosemary Breame and young Polly all enjoyed different aspects of the day. Polly had her face painted as a beutiful butterfly!
